Christian County government will have a surplus property auction in a couple weeks and the county continues to wait on final approval from the state to spend recently announced road funds.
Christian County Treasurer Walter Cummings says the surplus property auction will be at 9 a.m. Friday, October 18 at the Road Department on Russellville Road.

Meanwhile, Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says the county is still waiting for a memorandum of agreement from the state necessary to spend $553,000 in discretionary funds for local projects that were announced by Governor Matt Bevin last week.
The county was awarded the funds to resurface Pleasant View Acres Road, North Ridge Drive, three miles of Old Palestine Road beginning at KY 800 and Newton Lane.
Judge Tribble received approval from fiscal court to sign that memorandum when it arrives and it will then have to be sent back in and signed by three state officials in Frankfort before the work can begin.
That process has been lengthy for flex funds granted for resurfacing on Lewis Road and Harmony Grove Road—where work has still not begun.
In other action, magistrates accepted bids of $31,000 and $32,000 from Pennyrile Ford to purchase two pickup trucks for the Road Department.
