Trigg County Ham Festival returns to Cadiz this weekend

For the 43rd time, hundreds of people will descend on downtown Cadiz this coming weekend for the Trigg County Ham Festival, which has a full slate of activities and entertainment this year.

Trigg County Tourism and Convention Commission Executive Director Bill Stevens appeared on WHOP Tuesday, who says one of the main attractions is the ‘world’s largest ham biscuit’, which is edible and cooked during the festival.  Stevens says money raised through the biscuit sales will go to help the local Helping Hands organization.

He says there’s a long line up of events happening, rain or shine, including quilt exhibits, trained pig shows, carnival rides and more.

There will also be a long line of food, drink and craft vendors to choose from. Stevens says there’s live music all weekend, including the headline act on Friday starting at 6:10 p.m. with the band Entice from Nashville.

The music continues into Saturday, along with drawing for prizes, kids’ activities and more before the festival wraps up that evening with a fireworks show.  For more information, or a full schedule of events, go online to go-cadiz dot com or call the Tourism Commission at 270-522-3892.
