A Marshall County woman was murdered during a domestic dispute early Sunday morning in Paducah and a man was arrested.
Paducah police say it happened in the parking lot of the Paducah-McCracken County Convention and Expo Center and dispatchers received a call from a man a few minutes after 3 a.m. regarding a woman lying in the parking lot.
Officers found 48-year old Angella Hale of Calvert City dead and a RV occupied by 49-year old James Vanvactor of Grand Rivers nearby in the lot. Surveillance video showed that Hale and Vanvactor had been arguing at about 1 a.m. and Hale sat down behind the RV.
That’s when Vanvactor walked to the front of the RV, got in the driver’s seat, put it in reverse and allegedly backed over Hale with the rear and front wheels. He then parked the RV and stayed inside, never checking on Hale’s condition or calling for help.
Hale’s body remained on the lot for about two hours until the caller to 911 notified police.
Vanvactor was arrested at the parking lot and charged with murder, failure to render aid and resisting arrest.
