More seasonal weather on the way this weekend

After one of the hottest and driest summers in history, more seasonal temperatures are expected to arrive in the area this weekend.

Hopkinsville’s high temperature was 89 degrees or above on 17 of September’s 30 days and the mesonet site on Mount Zoar Latham Road only received 19 hundredths of an inch of rain for the entire month.

It will get into the 90’s again Thursday, but the National Weather Service in Paducah is forecasting a high of 80 Friday, 85 on Saturday and down to 78 on Sunday. The highs Monday and Tuesday could be in the upper 60’s or lower 70’s.

Officials say Paducah had its fourth driest and second-warmest September on record.
