Austin Peay has two football players honored by Ohio Valley Conference

Governors senior quarterback JaVaughn Craig shared OVC Offensive Player of the Week honors after his 15-for-21 performance yielded 220 yards and a pair of passing touchdowns in Saturday’s win over Jacksonville State. He also rushed for 30 yards and three scores, including a recovered fumble in the end zone, accounting for five total touchdowns on the day.

For the second time in three weeks, junior defensive back Kordell Jackson earned OVC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Jackson intercepted a pair of passes, netted a tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry, becoming the first player in Division I football (FCS or FBS) to intercept multiple passes in multiple games in 2019. The Governors are off this week.
