Updated: Stolen SUV hits house on South Virginia St.

Additional details have been released on an incident Thursday afternoon on South Virginia Street, where a stolen SUV struck the front of a home.

The collision report from Hopkinsville police says a woman was driving the stolen SUV northbound on South Virginia when a relative of the vehicle’s owner—41-year old Christopher Cummings of Hopkinsville—happened to see it on the road and attempted to cut her off to stop and secure the automobile.

The driver of the stolen SUV swerved and struck Cummings’ pickup before losing control, going into a yard and striking a home at 2301 South Virginia.

The woman driving the SUV fled on foot and her passenger, 38-year old Robert King of Hopkinsville, remained on scene. King was interviewed by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department and said he would take himself to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for neck pain.

Cummings was not hurt and the stolen SUV was returned to its owner.
