Local man charged with Hardin County burglary

Fingerprint evidence collected by police has led to a Hopkinsville man being charged with a burglary that happened last year in Hardin County.

An arrest warrant for 29-year old Dominic McKnight of Hopkinsville says fingerprints located at the scene of an August 7, 2018 burglary on Linda Lane in Elizabethtown were matched with his in a national database.

The victim told police she had been asleep in a chair at about 2 a.m. when she awoke to a noise. She fell back asleep and found that her kitchen and bedroom had been rummaged through when she awoke again later in the morning.

The warrant says entry was made by cutting a screen window and that McKnight allegedly took a purse, phone, keys, cash and other property.

McKnight was served with the warrant at the Christian County Jail and he’s charged with second-degree burglary. He was already incarcerated on a warrant for parole violation, according to the jail website.
