The inaugural Hoptown Half-Marathon and 5K is fast approaching, with the races to kickoff Saturday morning and travel across Hopkinsville and Christian County.
Toby Hudson with Parks and Recreation appeared on WHOP recently and says if you’re still looking to register for the event, the discount ends Thursday night so do it while you can—he says they’ve already had over 500 people sign up.
The race will start in front of Ferrell’s Snappy Service on Main Street, go to Gary Lane, down Gary Lane to Lafayette Road, head back into town to Pardue Lane, get on the Greenway System there and follow the Greenway all the way to the Christian County Justice Center, where the finish line will be. Hudson says the awards ceremony will follow quickly after the winners cross the line.
There will be an expo held at the Sportsplex the day before the race, where runners will be able to pick up information packets and a grab-bag. For more information about the Hoptown Half Marathon and 5k, follow along on Facebook or go online to hoptownhalf.com.
