Kansas responds to NCAA in regards to allegations against basketball program

The University of Kansas issued a statement in response to the NCAA’s accusations Monday of five serious violations within the program including a lack of institutional control allegation and a responsibility charge against Hall of Fame coach Bill Self. In its statement, the university said it will dispute the charges and “would stand firmly behind Coach Self,” who could receive a suspension of up to one year and a show-cause penalty if found guilty of major infractions. Kansas will have 90 days to formally respond to the allegations.
