The lucky person who bought a $1 million Powerball lottery ticket in Oak Grove has stepped forward to claim the prize.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, arrived at the headquarters in Louisville Monday.
A news release quotes the winner as saying they plan to use some of the funds for travel and to then put the rest of the cash to work. The lucky person said a family member checked the ticket first and they initially thought that person was kidding when they said it was a winner.
Chip Polston with the Kentucky Lottery says that ticket with all five winning white balls correct was sold at 101 Lotto on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
The winner is quoted as saying, “This is a life-changing event, and I plan on using this wisely.”
