Approximately 100 acres of field burned near I-24 in Oak Grove Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters from Oak Grove and seven other departments responded and were able to prevent the fire from engulfing any homes, according to information from the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department, which says the incident started as a very small fire and spread quickly with the very dry conditions.
No one was injured and firefighters were assisted by local farmers, Oak Grove police and the American Red Cross.
