Grand jury returns indictments for felony assault

Two people were indicted for felony assault Friday by a Christian County Grand Jury.

The grand jury indicted 18-year Jessica Marie Over of Hopkinsville for first-degree assault.

An arrest warrant alleges that the female victim heard Over outside her home on April 16 and witnessed her destroying lawn furniture.

When the victim went outside to confront Over due to her destroying property, Over allegedly threw a concrete rabbit at the victim and struck her in the head. Police say Over also pulled the victim to the ground and bit her on the arm. Over is also accused of striking the victim with a chair.

The victim required multiple staples in her head and multiple stitches in her arm.

Meanwhile, 40-year old Willie Coleman was indicted for second-degree assault.

Coleman allegedly punched and kicked John Cooper in the face on December 13, 2018, causing serious injuries.

The grand jury issued a no true bill for Alicea Curtis, who had been charged with custodial interference.  The charges are now dismissed.
