Pedestrian flown to Nashville following Marshall Co. collision

A Benton woman was flown to a Nashville hospital Wednesday night after a vehicle struck her on U.S. 68 in Marshall County.

That’s according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, which says 19-year old Shila Burton of Benton was walking in the roadway for U.S 68 West around 11 p.m. when she was struck by a westbound vehicle.  The vehicle was driven by 60-year old Bill Stacey of Calvert City, who told deputies he saw Burton in the road and tried to swerve and avoid striking her, but was unsuccessful.

Burton was transported by helicopter to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
