Ground was broken Wednesday afternoon for the kitchen and cafeteria that will be constructed on the campus of the Boys and Girls Club.
Executive Director Terrence Davis says the club’s feeding program began several years ago when he and others saw a need.
He say the 2,100 square foot facility will provide much-needed space for the program and allow for expansion of other offerings.
Davis and Board Chair Angie Goode thanked the numerous people and organizations, including the Hopkinsville Rotary Club, who donated money, time and labor to help make the dream a reality.
The building is expected to be complete in approximately six to seven months.
