NFL: Browns down Jets

The Cleveland Browns bounced back from a loss in Week One to beat the New York Jets 23-3 last night at MetLife Stadium. Nick Chubb dashed 19 yards for a touchdown and Baker Mayfield hit Odell Beckham Jr. for an 89-yard TD strike as Cleveland evened its record at 1-and-1. Austin Seibert nailed three field goals in the win.

Already without starter Sam Darnold, Jets backup QB Trevor Siemian hobbled off with a leg injury in the second quarter. Luke Falk was 20-of-25 for 198 yards in relief. Le’Veon Bell had 68 yards on 21 carries and caught 10 passes as the Jets fell to 0-and-2.

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey has asked the team to trade him following a verbal altercation with Coach Doug Marrone during Jacksonville’s 13-12 loss at Houston on Sunday. Marrone did not elaborate on the incident during his Monday press conference but did say Ramsey would not be disciplined. The Jaguars host the Tennessee Titans Thursday night.
