Ferrell’s could reopen as soon as November

Ferrell’s Snappy Service in Hopkinsville will make a comeback, possibly as soon as November.

Holly Boggess with Community Development Services says the restaurant—which is a longtime business and iconic location in the city—qualified for a matching grant program through the Inner City REZ and the city is chipping in to help with costs that the owners’ insurance couldn’t cover.

She says the city will be in for $15,000 in the endeavor after a reimbursement application was approved by the Local Development Corporation at a Thursday meeting.

Boggess says no changes will be made to the exterior, but the inside will be completely repaired.

Construction is set to begin within the next week and the owners Phillip and Carolyn Ferrell hope to have the popular restaurant back up and in business by late November.  Ferrell’s was severely damaged by a fire in July.
