Earlington man arrested for alleged assault of infant

An Earlington man was arrested this week for alleged abuse against his own child that sent the infant to a Louisville hospital with serious injuries.

Hopkins County sheriff’s deputies were notified of an eight-week-old victim with injuries at Baptist Health Hospital and investigation determined those injuries came from alleged abuse while the child was in custody of the father, according to a news release.

Deputies arrested 38-year old Herbert Harris of Earlington and charged him with first-degree assault (domestic violence).

The victim was transferred to University of Louisville Hospital due to the severity of the injuries.
