Two Christian County High School students who were passengers in a stolen car were killed in a crash at the end of a pursuit early Tuesday morning in Paducah.
The Paducah Police Department says officers received a call of a vehicle stolen from the parking lot of Incognito on Clark’s River Road about 1 a.m. and the automobile was soon located on Jackson Street near Lone Oak Road.
A pursuit ensued when 20-year old Caleb Puckett of Paducah allegedly accelerated as police activated lights and sirens and objects were reportedly tossed out of the vehicle as they traveled Old Mayfield Road, according to a news release.
Puckett headed south on Schneidman Road and went airborne at a railroad crossing, striking a tree in front of a home. A portion of the car then struck the front porch of the home, causing significant damage to the structure.
Puckett and his two passengers—15-year old Andrew Morgan and 15-year old Kain Clarkson—were all pronounced dead at the scene.
Christian County School System Spokesperson John Rittenhouse tells WHOP News that both juveniles were students at Christian County High School.
The incident remains under investigation by the Paducah Police Department and McCracken County Coroner’s Office.
