Grand jury returns indictments for theft, theft of mail

A Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments against a man for felony theft of mail and other crimes Friday.

Indicted for theft of mail matter, knowingly receiving stolen property under $10,000, possession of a defaced firearm and possession of marijuana is 26-year old Taylor Honea of Hopkinsville.  He is alleged to have gone to a residence on Kelby Court on August 20 and removed a package from the front steps.  His actions were reportedly caught on video surveillance via a home security system.

He also alleged to have had in his possession an Xbox and DVD player that had been stolen from a victim’s home in June, where Honea and another person had been hanging out.  Honea reportedly asked the victim about selling the system, and was told no.  When the victim returned from Clarksville later that day, they discovered a window air conditioning unit, the Xbox, DVD player and a tablet had been stolen.  The victim confronted Honea, who reportedly denied taking them but then later returned the Xbox and the DVD player.

Indicted for theft by unlawful taking of a controlled substance, two counts of theft of a firearm, felony theft and third-degree criminal mischief is 19-year old Kaitlyn Robinson of Cadiz.  She is alleged to have been staying at a residence while the homeowners were on vacation, and when they returned they reportedly discovered a man they did not know staying there, who fled upon their arrival.

The victims discovered that many items were missing from the home, including two handguns, multiple items of jewelry, clothing and several pills from pill bottles.  There was also allegedly a hole in a wall and a large stuffed animal had been cut open with a knife.  When questioned, Robinson reportedly gave several names about who had stayed there, but would give no other information and wouldn’t give information to police.
