Crews from multiple agencies spent Labor Day searching a section of Kentucky Lake where a woman fell off of a pontoon boat and into the water Sunday night.
Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officials tell WPSD TV that 22-year old Samantha Ratledge of Scott City, Missouri fell off the boat while it was in motion about 8 p.m. Sunday. The person driving the boat, 49-year old James Nance of Calloway County, stopped, but was unable to find Ratledge.
Nance was later arrested and charged with boating while under the influence of alcohol, according to information provided to WPSD.
Calloway and Marshall County rescue squads spent much of Sunday night and Labor day searching the water for Ratledge in an area near Paradise Resort.
