The Kentucky Department of Local Government has announced that multiple local communities in the state will receive funding for projects, including Morton’s Gap in Hopkins County.
According to a news release, the grants will fund community projects across the state, ranging from infrastructure improvements to flood control projects and energy conservation initiatives. In Morton’s Gap, which received $835,000 in funding, that amount will go towards water system infrastructure improvements.
The CDBG program, overseen by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, provides assistance to communities for use in revitalizing neighborhoods, expanding affordable housing and economic opportunities, providing infrastructure and improving community facilities and services.
