Report: Rain was factor in Boulevard collisions

Wet pavement was a factor in a pair of collisions involving four vehicles at the Fort Campbell Boulevard-Interstate 24 interchange Monday morning.

It began about 5:20 a.m., according to the collision report from Hopkinsville police, which says 19-year old Juliana Williams of Hopkinsville rear-ended a car driven by 29-year old Jasmin Wilkerson of Clarksville at the intersection in the northbound lanes of the Boulevard.

She said her tires were bad and she was unable to stop on the wet road when the light changed.

A second collision happened when 21-year old Brianna Caracciolo of Clarksville was exiting I-24 onto Fort Campbell Boulevard and slammed on her brakes to avoid striking Wilkerson’s car. She was then rear-ended by a car driven by 23-year old Javier Rocha of Clarksville, who said he was unable to stop due to the wet conditions.

Rocha’s passenger, 24-year old Symere Rocha of Clarksville, was transported by EMS to Tennova Health Hospital in Clarksville for evaluation. No one else was injured.
