Hopkinsville City Councilmember Kimberly McCarley appeared Wednesday morning in Christian Circuit Court as she faces a second-degree forgery charge.
Attorney Ben Fletcher waived formal arraignment for McCarley and Judge John Atkins set her next pre-trial conference for October 16.
An indictment returned August 16 alleges that on June 22, 2016, McCarley forged the name of a woman on a bank document without that woman’s permission. The incident was investigated by Kentucky State Police.
McCarley was booked in the Christian County Jail on Tuesday of last week and released on a $5,000 bond.
