Trigg County Animal Control is asking for the public’s help to identify the person who shot a dog in the front yard of its owner’s home last week.
Officials say the dachshund named Coco was in the front yard of her home on Linton Road near Lock E Road about 1 p.m. Thursday when someone shot her. Coco was taken to Little River Veterinary Clinic, where it was determined she was nearly paralyzed by the bullet.
The dog’s final diagnosis will be dependent on if she can walk properly on her rear legs, with nerve damage being the main concern.
Anyone wanting to donate toward Coco’s vet bills can call the clinic at 270-522-4445.
If you have information about the person responsible for shooting the dog, call Trigg County Animal Control at 270-350-8209.
