CASA fundraiser is this week, organization still needs volunteers

Court Appointed Special Advocates, also known as CASA, is still in need of volunteers and board members and they are working with a local business this week on a fundraiser.

Board member Rita Sholar appeared on WHOP Monday morning and explained that CASA advocates assist children in the court system through the process until permanent residency is established.

She says there are 119 ongoing cases in Christian County and only four volunteers, so there’s still a need for more volunteers.

Sholar notes that 20 percent of all proceeds at Heather’s Homemade Ice Cream on Fort Campbell Boulevard this week will benefit Casa.
