Three people were arrested by Hopkinsville police Friday afternoon for abuse and wanton endangerment charges.
Officers were notified of two young children under the age of 6 crying and unsupervised in the middle of the roadway on Canton Street and were able to determine they lived at 633 Cypress Street. The police reports say the home was in deplorable condition, there was no lock or doorknob on the front door, there were roaches and bugs throughout the home, there was rotten food in the kitchen and refrigerator and the flooring was extremely unstable.
Hopkinsville police arrested 27-year old Ernest McLennen, 25-year old Jasmin Fennell and 47-year old Condela Hill of Hopkinsville. All three are charged with two counts of criminal child abuse and five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
