Colorado murder suspect arrested on I-24 in Lyon County

A man wanted for murder in Colorado was arrested in Lyon County following a traffic stop on I-24 on Friday.

State Trooper T.J. Williams stopped 31-year old John Horton of Jacksonville, Florida for traffic violations Friday and arrested him for DUI and other charges. On Saturday, KSP received information from the FBI that Horton was wanted by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado for murder.

Horton was entered into the database of wanted fugitives Saturday morning and KSP served him with the warrant for murder at the Caldwell County Jail.

Colorado officials are making plans to travel to Princeton to further their investigation of Horton, according to KSP.
