Man arrested on robbery charge

An investigation Thursday afternoon on South Fowler Avenue led to the arrest of a man on a robbery charge.

Hopkinsville police were dispatched to the 100 block of South Fowler about 4:40 p.m. and the victim told officers that 29-year old Montie Elmer Streeval of Hopkinsville had approached him about four hours earlier regarding an ongoing feud.

Streeval allegedly told the victim to walk around a corner to some bushes, where he was struck on the head and a pill bottle was stolen.

Streeval was located by HPD at his home and said the victim had stolen from him in the past. He said the victim gave him cigarettes, but he never took the pills and he never struck the victim.

An arrest citation for Streeval says the victim had redness on his face and neck and the pill bottle was located in the area where Streeval had allegedly fled.

Streeval was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery.
