MLB: Reds, Cubs and Braves win Wednesday, Cardinals lose

Luis Castillo allowed one run over six innings to log his 12th win as the Cincinnati Reds doubled up the San Diego Padres 4-2 Wednesday at Great American Ball Park. The Reds are off today before beginning an 11 game road trip tomorrow night at Pittsburgh.

Elsewhere in the National League: The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 5-3 in a rain shortened game last night at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals welcome the Colorado Rockies for the weekend beginning this evening.

Kris Bryant’s go ahead, two-run home run in the eight lifted the Chicago Cubs to a 12-11 victory over the San Francisco Giants. The Cubs lead the St. Louis Cardinals by a half game in the NL Central. The Cubs-Giants series concludes today at Wrigley Field.

The Atlanta Braves blanked the Miami Marlins 5-0 last night. The series concludes tonight at Sun Trust Park.
