A man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Hopkins County.
It happened about 4:15 p.m. and a news release from the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department says 73-year old Leonard Martin, Jr. of Hanson was backing out of his driveway on Sunset Road near Hanson and struck the driver’s side door of an eastbound vehicle driven by 21-year old Darrell Baker of Sacramento.
The collision caused Baker to run off the right side of the road and he struck a utility pole.
Baker was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office. Martin was not injured in the crash.
