This year’s Trail of Tears Native American Pow Wow is less than three weeks away and one local official notes it’s not just about the dancing and costumes.
Hopkinsville Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Brooke Jung recently appeared on WHOP and noted that while the Pow Wow brings hundreds of people to the community each year, local students get to learn from the participants on field trips to the park in the days leading up to the weekend.
This year’s Pow Wow is set for September 7 and 8—going from 1 until 6 p.m. Saturday and then resuming at 1 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children between the ages of 7 and 12 and children 6 and under can get in free.
The always popular grand entries are scheduled for 1 and 6 p.m. Saturday, September 7 and 1 p.m. Sunday, September 8.
