Summer Salute is coming up Friday and Saturday in downtown Hopkinsville and both days will be filled with food, fun and live music.
Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman notes that the closure of East Ninth Street and other areas of downtown will begin Thursday evening.
The 4th annual festival begins 10 a.m. Friday and Brockman encourages anyone who can to eat lunch downtown before returning that night for the Jimmy Church concert.
Brockman says Saturday’s activities begin at 10 a.m. with a full day of live music that concludes in front of the Christian County Justice Center at 7:30 with opening act Walker Montgomery and country music superstar Joe Diffie.
The concert and festival are free to attend and a complete schedule can be found at hoptownsummersalute.com.
