Hideki Matsuyama fired a course record nine under 63 in Friday’s second round of the PGA Tour’s BMW Championship at Medinah Country Club outside of Chicago. Matsuyama is at 12 under 132 and leads Tony Finau and Patrick Cantlay who are one shot back at 11 under heading into Saturday’s third round.
Louisville area native Justin Thomas is two shots back at 10 under with Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker at seven under and Campbellsville native JB Holmes is at four under par.
Doug Barron and Miguel Angel Jimenez at seven under 65 share the lead heading into Saturday’s second round of the PGA Tour Champions Dick’s Sporting Goods Classic in Endicott, NY. Franklin’s Kenny Perry and Union native Steve Flesch are at four under 68 while Paducah’s Russ Cochran is at five over 77.
