Crofton receives $366k community development block grant

The City of Crofton is one of many communities in Kentucky that have been chosen to receive grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in the form of community development block grants.

According to a news release, Crofton will receive $366,000 in grant funding to put towards the reconstruction and rehabilitation of five homes for low- and moderate-income families. Hopkins County Fiscal Court also received a grant in the amount of $1 million to go towards reconstruction and rehabilitation of 11 homes.

That grant is a part Community Development Block Grants that will be spread across the Commonwealth.  Governor Matt Bevin says, “We are grateful to our federal, state and local partners who will help us make these projects a reality for homeowners in Campbell, Christian, Hopkins, Perry and Scott counties.”

The CDBG grant program, overseen by HUD, provides assistance to communities for use in revitalizing neighborhoods, expanding affordable housing and economic opportunities, providing infrastructure and improving community facilities and services.
