Todd Co. Judge-Exec to appoint O’Bryan as County Clerk

Todd County Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield is appointing Cindy O’Bryan as Todd County Clerk, following the recent death of Clerk Leslie Cunningham.

O’Bryan is a veteran deputy clerk who was appointed county clerk for a year in 2018 after former clerk Kim Chapman retired at the end of 2017.

O’Bryan chose not to seek a full term in the office and Cunningham won her Democratic primary and general election last year.

The appointment means O’Bryan will serve as Todd County Clerk until a new clerk is elected during a 2020 special election.

Todd County Attorney Jeff Traughber says there could potentially be Democratic and Republican primaries in May of next year and a clerk would be elected in November to serve the remainder of Cunningham’s term through 2022.

Judge Mansfield says the clerk’s office should reopen Friday with the appointment of O’Bryan.
