A search warrant was executed at an East 13th Street home in Hopkinsville Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the arrests of two people for cultivating marijuana and child endangerment.
Officers arrived at 900 East 13th for a criminal investigation and an arrest citation says an odor of marijuana could be smelled from the sidewalk. The search warrant was served and police say they found less than eight ounces of marijuana, scales and three marijuana plant in a grow room.
There was a three-year old in the home who police say was in close proximity to marijuana cookies and pipes. Officers also located street signs inside the home.
Two occupants of the home—21-year old Maria Solis and 24-year old Jorge Zalpa of Hopkinsville—were arrested and charged with cultivating marijuana, trafficking in marijuana, receiving stolen property and endangering the welfare of a minor.
