Details have been released on a wreck with injuries from Tuesday afternoon at Pembroke Road and the Bypass.
It happened just after 3 p.m. and the report from Public Safety Officer Cassidy Woods says 50-year old Jerry Turpen of Georgia was northbound in a tractor-trailer on Pembroke Road when he failed to stop at a red light and struck an eastbound Volkswagen Beetle on the Bypass operated by 45-year old Tracy Heaton of Elkton, pushing it into a pickup driven by 32-year old Lydia Bravard of Hopkinsville.
Bravard, Heaton and Heaton’s passenger—19-year old Dakota Cornelius of Elkton—were all taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
Turpen was checked out by EMS personnel, but refused a trip to the hospital. He told police he attempted to stop at the red light, but his brakes didn’t respond as they normally would.
