A Heat Advisory is in effect today for western Kentucky and middle Tennessee and there’s also a chance for severe weather.
The Heat Advisory goes from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. and forecasters say the heat index values will reach between 105 and 110 degrees. Anyone spending time outdoors should drink plenty of fluids and take breaks in a shady area or air conditioned building as often as possible.
Owners of outdoor pets should be sure they have shelter to take refuge from the sun and that they have a constant supply of water.
Christian, Todd and Trigg counties and our middle Tennessee listening area are under a slight risk for severe thunderstorms—with damaging winds and large hail the greatest threats.
The storms will be associated with a cold front moving across the area that will cool high temperatures back into the mid to upper 80’s for the rest of the workweek.
