Kentucky State Police has released additional information on a wreck Friday night on I-24 that involved a Christian County Sheriff’s Department cruiser.
Police say 53-year old Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Charles Fiscella was westbound responding to a call with his emergency equipment activated in the left lane when an unknown vehicle veered from the right lane into his path near the Pennyrile Parkway interchange.
Deputy Fiscella veered to the right in an attempt to avoid a collision and struck the rear of a car driven by 19-year old Johnny Lacey of West Plains, Missouri.
Lacey’s car went off the right side of the road and the cruiser came to rest on the interstate near the exit ramp to the Parkway.
Deputy Fiscella and his passenger, 44-year old Special Deputy Phillip Eastman, were both taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Lacey was transported by EMS to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.
