Cary Sharber to lead Challenge House #7

Challenge House was pleased to announce Thursday that Cary Sharber—who is well known in the community and a 2018 Mayor’s Unity Award recipient—will lead Challenge House #7 as an ambassador.

Sharber is also the leader of a dance craze that swept through Hopkinsville in 2018 known as ‘The Southside Challenge’ in an effort to bring people together—his role in leading Challenge House #7 will also be about putting the unity in community, says Sharber.

He says he has too many ideas in plan to name, but he does intend to start a tutoring service for local kids that will teach them to be leaders.

Sharber says he felt led to join Challenge House because the program is all about bringing people together, and he wants to be a part of that.

Neighborhood Ambassadors are people who live in a Challenge House and assist in the outreach to that particular neighborhood and from there the city as a whole—by hosting summer youth programs, tutoring, workforce training and much more.

Challenge House #7 on Phelps Avenue is the largest house in the program, a fact that Sharber says he intends to take full advantage of to reach as many people as possible. For more information on Challenge House and its mission, follow Challenge House on Facebook.
