Students in the area returned to school for the new year Wednesday morning, welcomed by teachers and administrators enthusiastic to help them achieve great things.
It was the first school day as principal for Renisha Elam at Freedom Elementary and she was excited to greet students as they arrived.
Freedom has struggled recently on state assessments and Elam says the goal is to improve student achievement.
Elam isn’t the only new principal in the area, with Stephanie Blankenberger in charge at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School and Tammy Mason leading South Todd Elementary School.
