Greenville Road murder suspect arraigned

The woman charged in the June 6 shooting death of Amareya’ Freeman was arraigned Wednesday morning in Christian Circuit Court.

A not guilty plea was entered by attorney Michael Thompson on behalf of 19-year old Anshanique Leavell of Hopkinsville in the courtroom of Judge John Atkins.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling says the process has begun of turning evidence over to the defense.

Leavell is accused of shooting Freeman in the chest at an apartment complex on Greenville Road and is charged with murder, receiving stolen property and complicity to tampering with physical evidence.

A pre-trial conference was set for October 16.
