Woman flown to Vanderbilt hospital after fiery crash

A Crofton woman was flown to a Nahsville hospital Monday night following a fiery single-vehicle accident on Lafayette Road.

It happened about 10:40 p.m., according to the report from Christian County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brandon Myers, which says 24-year old Tabitha Snell of Crofton was southbound near Huffman Mill Road when she crossed the northbound lane and struck a guard rail.

The left front tire came off her car and she struck a tree in front of 7170 Lafayette Road.

Witnesses removed Snell from the car before it burst into flames and became fully engulfed.

The report says a strong odor of alcohol was coming from Snell’s person and a witness reported seeing several beer bottles in the car.

Snell was flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for leg injuries.

Excessive speed may have also been a factor in the crash, in addition to alcohol involvement, according to the report.
