The United Way of the Pennyrile is putting out a plea for volunteers to help out during the Hoptown Half Marathon and 5K in September, the proceeds of which will benefit the United Way.
According to a news release, the United Way is looking for volunteers to help the effort of the Hoptown Half and raise money to support their 20 partner agencies in Christian, Todd, Trigg and Caldwell. Volunteers are needed for cheer teams, water stop teams, race registration, award presentations, the Friday night expo and at the finish line itself.
People are urged to sign-up to volunteer through the United Way of the Pennyrile Facebook page. The Hoptown Half Marathon and 5K takes place September 28, starting at 7 a.m. in downtown Hopkinsville.
Organizers encourage those interested to sign-up before the day of the race—pre-registration is still at a discounted rate, which will not be available on race day.
