The Cincinnati Reds moved second baseman Scooter Gennett to the San Francisco Giants and starting pitcher Tanner Roark to the Oakland A’s before the trading deadline Wednesday.
Cincinnati will receive a player to be named from San Francisco for Gennett, a 2018 All-Star. The Reds obtained minor league outfielder Jameson Hannah from Oakland for Roark.
The Atlanta Braves are beefing up their bullpen for the stretch run. They acquired All-Star closer Shane Greene from the Detroit Tigers and Mark Melancon from the San Francisco Giants before yesterday’s trade deadline. Greene has 22 saves in 25 chances this season.
