Only two Kentucky counties are currently issuing REAL ID’s that will eventually be needed to board a plane or to get on Fort Campbell, but Christian County residents will be able to have their paperwork pre-approved at the justice center for a couple hours each Friday this month.
Christian Circuit Court Clerk Paige Parker says she will have personnel available near the justice center entrance from noon until 2 p.m. each Friday this month going over all of the paperwork to be sure it meets REAL ID requirements.
She says you’ll need proof of identity such as a passport, tax document or birth certificate and bring proof of your social security number.
A couple pieces of recent mail will be good enough to serve as proof of your current address.
Parker says the process of renewing licenses to the REAL ID in Woodford and Franklin counties under their pilot program is taking about twice the time as it would for a traditional license and she hopes assisting residents with preparing before it rolls out here will save those citizens some time.
She says they’ll add additional days and hours for the program if there’s demand.
