Hoppers defeat Paducah, move to OVL Finals

The Hoptown Hoppers defeated the Paducah Chiefs 5-3 Tuesday night at Brooks Stadium in game two of the OVL West Final.

The Hoppers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a two run single by Ben Huber. The Hoppers added single runs in the third, fifth and ninth innings to get their 29th win of the season to go with 13 losses.

Ben Huber went 3-5 with two RBI, Jacob Jenkins was 2-4 with a home run and two RBI. Chandler Kendall pitched six strong innings, striking out 10 in getting the win with Brennan Crooms pitching the ninth inning to get his ninth save of the season.

The Hoppers will host Dubois County in game one of the OVL Final Friday night at 7:05 at Tiger Field. The Bombers scored double digit runs for the fourth straight post season game in downing Henderson 12-3 in game two of the OVL East Final last night.
