MLB: Reds & Cubs win, Braves & Cardinals lose Sunday

Tucker Barnhart had three hits and drove in two runs, including the go-ahead run in the sixth, in the Cincinnati Reds 3-2 triumph over the Colorado Rockies Sunday. Alex Wood worked into the fifth and allowed two runs for a no-decision in his Reds’ debut after being sidelined with a lower back issue.

The Reds open a series with the Pittsburgh Pirates this evening at Great American Ballpark.

Elsewhere in the National League: Kyle Schwarber clubbed two home runs, including a grand slam as the Chicago Cubs pounded the Milwaukee Brewers 11-4. The Cubs are tied with the St. Louis Cardinals for first in the NL Central. The teams face off tomorrow night in St. Louis.

The Philadelphia Phillies downed the NL East leading Atlanta Braves 9-4 Sunday. The Braves move to Washington tonight to face the Nationals.

Interleague: The Houston Astros downed the St. Louis Cardinals 6-2 at Busch Stadium. The Redbirds have dropped two games in a row.
