A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to have a mobile caravan working along Interstate 24 in Christian County starting Monday.
A news release says the contractor will be installing reflective pavement markers along I-24 between the Pennyrile Parkway interchange and the Kentucky-Tennessee state line. The mobile operation will include a number of support vehicles with arrow boards to direct traffic around the marker installation crew.
To reduce the likelihood of traffic backups, the crew will limit their work hours to between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day.
The contractor plans to start working along the eastbound lanes near the Pennyrile Parkway interchange working eastward toward the state line. The crew will then reverse direction to work along the westbound lanes back to the Parkway.
Weather permitting, the reflective marker installation work is expected to take about five days to complete.
