Home heavily damaged, dog killed in Twyman Square fire

A dog was killed and a home was heavily damaged by fire on the corner of Twyman Square and Twyman Street Friday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Deputy Chief Steve Futrell spoke to WHOP News on the scene and says there were flames coming from the residence when firefighters arrived on scene, and the occupant inside was able to evacuate.

A dog sadly did not survive, and was found inside by firefighters. The cause of the blaze is currently unknown and the fire department is investigating.
